BENEFITS OF SILICONE
Reduce Energy Consumption
Silicone roof coatings reflect nearly 90% of UV rays back into the atmosphere, keeping your building cooler. On a hot summer day, a silicone roof coating can reduce the temperature of your roof by up to 60 degrees, which prevents that heat from penetrating the roof into your building.
Recoat to Restore
We offer warranties ranging from 5 to 20 years on our silicone roof coating systems. But when that warranty expires, you’re not left out in the cold. You can simply apply a new layer of silicone to renew your warranty for another 5 to 20 years. This renewal coat is far thinner than the original quote, saving you money.
Roof tear-off puts 8 million tons of waste in our landfills every year, a top contributor to the over-filling problem. On a typical silicone roof coating project, (much) less than 5% of the roof will be torn off. If we started restoring all of our buildings instead of tearing off, we’d remove 7.6 million tons of waste – every single year.
While other roof coatings require primers, base coats, fabric reinforcements, and then a top coat on the entire roof surface, our silicone roof coatings are a one-coat application. Primers are rarely required, fabric is required only around penetrations, and PM silicone can be installed up to 40 mils in a single pass.
No need for additional sheet metal or flashing work, which requires extra labor, time, and tools. Silicone roof coatings are self-flashing and can therefore be applied right up onto parapet walls, flashings, down to the edges of drains, and any other penetration. Penetrations are the leading cause of leaks, silicone stops them.
Nearly every other roofing system available has seams. Metal, single-ply, BUR, modified bitumen, all of these materials have seams. What do seams do? They leak. Penetrations are the leading cause of leaks, seams are a close second. Silicone roof coating systems eliminate seams, and therefore leaks.
