Which is superior?
In our last blog, High Solids vs High Solids High Build, we looked at the differences between HS 3200 silicone and HS 3200 High Build silicone. This blog helped pinpoint the key differences between the two products, but sparked a new question for some of our clients: “Which is better – spraying or rolling PM silicone?” Since we have had a couple questions about this since our last blog, we thought we’d delve into this topic and offer some insight on spraying versus rolling.
During our next two blog posts, we will be looking at 3 main benefits to each process. Both spraying and rolling are great ways to use PM silicone, but the differences can save you time and money if done right. As you could imagine, there is no superior application method generally speaking. Each method is appropriate for certain types of jobs. These blogs will look into which application method is appropriate for different situations. We’ll explore the following benefits to make our case:
Spraying
- Lower Silicone Cost
- Lower Labor Cost
- Smoother Finish
Rolling
- Lower Equipment Cost
- Less Technical Labor
- No Overspray
Please check in next week as we begin looking into the right time and place to spray PM silicone! The week after that, we’ll look at rolling PM silicone. After we give you all of this information, we think you’ll be able to decide for yourself which is better for which job!
