For most people, when they think about silicone roof coatings, the first image that comes to mind is a beautiful, white roof glistening in the sun. As you may know, white silicone can reflect up to 88% of the sun’s UV rays, keeping your building cooler and energy costs down. These “cool roofs” make up most of the silicone roofs you’ll see. For some though, a white roof is not the option. Whether your roof needs to be a different color for technical reasons or simply for aesthetics, we have a variety of options available for you. In the coming weeks, we will take a look at our premium color, custom color, and metallic silicone roof coatings.
Standard Colors
Just about any roof coating on the market comes in standard colors. At PM, our bestselling coating is High Solids 3201 White Silicone Roof Coating. The white silicone reflects 88% of the sun’s UV rays, keeping your building cool and energy costs down. Building owners who waterproof their roof with HS-3201 might also qualify for a variety of LEED points. PM has 4 standard roof coating colors that are readily available in our New Albany, Indiana warehouse. The standard colors are white, tan, light gray, and dark gray. All the technical components of these colors are exactly the same. With each choice you can still expect seamless waterproofing!
Premium Colors
In addition to standard colors, we also have a many premium colors! These colors offer the same great protection and 20-year warranties as our standard color HS and LS coatings. There are 8 premium colors. You can see what they look like on the Color Chart on our website.

Why Buy Colored Silicone?
Some building owners enjoy the idea of covering their existing substrate with the same color roof coating, or they might prefer the opposite. Having a colored roof will increase the aesthetics of any building! Additionally, a building owner might consider denoting walkways, edge lines, or skylights with colored silicone coating. You could even put a company logo on the roof with PM silicone! The options are endless.
Composition
PM’s Premium Colors are a dispersion of silicone rubber. It is a one-part, ready-to-use material that can be easily applied to a clean and dry surface. Premium colors are made with extremely UV stable pigments that will only enhance the reflectivity and lifespan of the roof. Furthermore, they operate in the same manner as Low Solids and High Solids silicone, adhering to nearly any substrate via a roller brush or spray equipment. Additionally, all premium colors are low VOC and moisture curing.
Application
Surfaces that are to be coated with HS or LS silicone must be properly prepared. All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of loose materials. The silicone coating can be sprayed, or roller brush applied. If you choose to spray the silicone coating, a standard airless sprayer is recommended. HS 3200 series can be applied in excess of 40 mils in a single coat without blistering, while maintaining maximum adhesion. This is due to its high solids content and absence of hydrocarbon solvents.
